Mobility and Post-Socialism: Cross-Border Shaming and Un-Belonging in a White Europe

In today’s Europe, mechanisms of controlling and disciplining bodies presumably transcend the logic costs painful infliction violence. State-sanctioned practices bureaucratic categorization offer EU citizens chance to live as “Europeans” wherever they choose in territory a member state. However, within framework neo-colonial structuring power, Eastern European states inhabit not only geographic border zone, but recreate periphery modernity on continent. this article I aim problematize violence applied people from who are border-crossers, reveal meaning intra-European bordering practices. bring fore (personal) memories border-crossing data my fieldwork, exposing collective similar experiences. Today, last few decades, whose mobility is controlled or forced across submitted forms displacement, eviction, deportation, producing un-belonging border-crossers. These experiences accompanied accounted for by numerous emotions that ways which state institutions act upon minds non-citizens, way felt, becoming present people’s lives. One induced through their shame , an essential tool control producer un-belonging. Thus, nation-state, following racist-patriarchal logic, unaccounted dehumanization dignity violation “some” accommodated, rationalized, encouraged.
